Ingredients

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup butter, melted

1 cup white corn syrup

3 large eggs

1 cup chopped pecans

1/3 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn syrup, brown sugar, salt, and melted butter. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.

  3. In a separate bowl, lightly beat the three eggs until just blended.

  4. Pour the beaten eggs into the sugar and syrup mixture, stirring vigorously until well combined and thoroughly blended.

  5. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.

  6. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top of the filling.

  7. Bake in the preheated 350°F oven for 50-60 minutes, until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean and the filling reaches an internal temperature of 160°F. The top should be golden brown.

  8. Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving.
