Ingredients
4 cups sliced or diced apples
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
¾ cup rolled oats
½ teaspoon salt
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, ¼ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ cup granulated sugar. Toss gently to coat the apples evenly. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread in an even layer.
In a separate bowl, stir together the brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, and salt until well combined.
Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the top of the apples, pressing gently so it adheres.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbly around the edges.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm with vegan whipped cream, coconut ice cream, or drizzle with caramel or honey. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
