Ingredients
½ avocado, ripe
Juice of 1 lemon wedge
pinch Pinch of cayenne pepper
Coarse salt, to taste
Directions
Scoop the avocado flesh into a small bowl.
Mash the avocado with a fork until you reach your desired consistency—chunky or smooth, as preferred.
Squeeze the lemon juice over the mashed avocado and stir to combine and prevent browning.
Add a pinch of cayenne pepper and season with coarse salt to taste. Stir gently until evenly mixed.
Serve immediately on sandwiches, toast, or as desired.
Comments
A genuinely five-minute dish—no hidden prep—using four ingredients all stocked at every Charlotte grocery chain; avocados run $1.50 to $2.50 each, lemon juice and cayenne are pennies, so you're looking at roughly $1.50 per serving for the solids. The real question is fit: this works as a side or light lunch for two, but it needs to be eaten same-day and does not stretch to feed a family or hold through a workweek. If you're cooking for four or planning leftovers, budget something else; if you're two people making a quick bowl or toast topper tonight, this is nearly frictionless.
