Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

4 tablespoons butter, at room temperature

3 cups powdered sugar

3 to 4 tablespoons Baileys Irish Cream

Directions

  1. Place the room-temperature cream cheese and butter into a medium mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer set to medium-high speed, beat the two ingredients together for about 1 minute until the mixture becomes smooth and well combined.

  2. With the mixer still running at medium-high speed, gradually add the powdered sugar a little at a time to avoid creating a cloud of sugar dust. Reduce the mixer speed to low while you incorporate the sugar.

  3. Once all the powdered sugar has been added and fully incorporated, increase the mixer speed to high and continue beating for approximately 2 minutes until the frosting becomes light, fluffy, and airy.

  4. Pour 3 to 4 tablespoons of Baileys Irish Cream into the frosting and beat on medium speed until the liqueur is fully blended and the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.

  5. The frosting is now ready to use. For storage, the frosting can be covered and refrigerated for up to 5 days, or frozen for up to 1 month. Before using stored frosting, allow it to come to room temperature, then beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth again.
