Ingredients

2 whole chicken legs

sea salt

black pepper

1/4 cup peach BBQ sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). While the oven heats, rinse the chicken legs under cold running water and thoroughly pat them dry with paper towels. This helps them brown better during cooking.

  2. Season the dried chicken legs generously on all sides with sea salt and black pepper. Place them skin-side up on a sheet pan fitted with a wire rack.

  3. Bake the chicken legs in the preheated oven for 35 minutes until they begin to brown. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh without touching bone.

  4. Remove the pan from the oven and brush the chicken legs liberally with the peach BBQ sauce, coating them evenly on all sides.

  5. Return the sauced chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the sauce caramelizes slightly and adheres to the chicken.

  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

  7. Serve the peach BBQ chicken legs warm and enjoy.
