Ingredients

1 and 1/2 pounds top sirloin steak, sliced 1/4 inch thick

2 bunches fresh broccoli, cut into florets

1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Set the sauce mixture aside.

  2. Heat a large wok or skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the sliced beef in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. The beef should reach an internal temperature of 145°F for medium-rare. Transfer the cooked beef to a plate and set aside.

  3. Add the remaining sesame oil to the same wok over high heat. Add the broccoli florets and sliced red onion, then stir-fry for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.

  4. Return the cooked beef to the wok along with the reserved sauce mixture. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes, coating all ingredients evenly with the sauce and heating through.

  5. Transfer the stir-fry to a serving platter and serve immediately.
