Ingredients

1 20-ounce package frozen waffle fries

1 pound ground beef

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon kosher salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

½ teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

American or cheddar cheese, sliced and cut into small squares

Chopped lettuce

Cherry tomatoes, halved, or sliced regular tomato

¼ red onion, sliced

Condiments for serving (such as ketchup, mustard, mayo, or ranch dressing)

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the waffle fries package and place the fries on a baking sheet. Bake according to package directions until golden and crispy.

  2. While the fries are cooking, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, black pepper, and onion powder in a mixing bowl. Gently combine until just mixed, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  3. Divide the beef mixture into small patties, each sized to match the width of a waffle fry, creating approximately 12-16 small patties.

  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the beef patties in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side.

  5. Flip each patty and immediately place a small square of cheese on top of each one. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature of the beef reaches 160°F and the cheese is completely melted. Transfer cooked patties to a clean plate.

  6. To assemble each slider, start with a crispy waffle fry as the base. Layer on some chopped lettuce, followed by a slice of tomato and a few slices of red onion if desired. Top with a cooked beef patty and cheese.

  7. Place another waffle fry on top to complete the slider. If needed, secure with a toothpick through the center for easier handling.

  8. Serve warm with your choice of condiments for dipping or topping.
