Ingredients

2 bananas, peeled and mashed

1/2 can (6 fluid ounces) evaporated milk

2 cups skim milk

1/2 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup golden raisins, optional

Directions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the skim milk, evaporated milk, white sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is well blended.

  2. Transfer the milk mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's specific instructions, usually churning for 20-30 minutes until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  3. When the ice cream has finished churning and is at the desired consistency, add the mashed bananas and optional golden raisins, allowing the ice cream machine to blend them in for 1-2 minutes until evenly distributed.

  4. Transfer the banana ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4-6 hours or overnight until firm, before serving.
