Ingredients

2 pounds Fresh strawberries

1 cup Powdered sugar

6 pieces Lemon zest

2 tablespoons Orange-flavored liqueur (optional)

1 bottle Dry white wine, chilled

1 bottle Sparkling wine, chilled

Directions

  1. Rinse the strawberries under cool water and remove the green hulls. Slice the strawberries in half lengthwise, leaving some whole for garnish if desired.

  2. Place the sliced strawberries in a large punch bowl or beverage dispenser.

  3. Sprinkle the powdered sugar evenly over the strawberries and gently stir to coat. Allow the mixture to macerate for 15–20 minutes at room temperature, which will help release the strawberry juices.

  4. Add the lemon zest pieces to the strawberry mixture and stir gently to combine.

  5. If using the orange-flavored liqueur, pour it into the bowl and stir well to incorporate.

  6. Just before serving, slowly pour the chilled dry white wine into the bowl, stirring gently to blend.

  7. Top with the chilled sparkling wine and stir very gently to combine, being careful to preserve the bubbles.

  8. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, ensuring each glass receives some strawberries and lemon zest. Garnish with a whole strawberry or lemon wheel if desired.
