Ingredients
8 ounces frozen whole strawberries
1/4 cup water
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Directions
Combine the frozen strawberries, water, and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to help the strawberries break down and the sugar dissolve, about 8–10 minutes.
Once the strawberries have softened and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes before serving. For a smoother consistency, press the sauce through a fine-mesh strainer or blend with an immersion blender if desired.
