Ingredients

2 mushrooms, finely minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger

1 tablespoon maple syrup

Directions

  1. Finely mince the mushrooms into small, uniform pieces to release their umami flavor and help them incorporate smoothly into the sauce.

  2. Mince the garlic cloves as finely as possible to distribute their flavor evenly throughout the sauce.

  3. Grate the fresh ginger root using a microplane or fine grater to measure out 1/2 teaspoon.

  4. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, minced mushrooms, garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until well blended.

  5. Add the maple syrup to the mixture and stir thoroughly to incorporate, ensuring the sweetness is evenly distributed and balances the salty and spicy notes.

  6. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. The sauce is now ready to use immediately in your stir fry or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
