Ingredients

2 steaks beef tenderloin steaks (8 to 10 ounces each, about 1½ inches thick)

2½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons granulated garlic

2 tablespoons paprika

2 tablespoons kosher salt

1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon ground black pepper

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon turmeric

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon ground celery seed

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the granulated garlic, paprika, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, onion powder, black pepper, sugar, turmeric, dried basil, ground celery seed, and dried oregano. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed. This spice blend can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  3. Place the beef tenderloin steaks on a large plate and lightly brush both sides with Worcestershire sauce.

  4. Generously coat the top and bottom of each steak with the Cajun spice blend, pressing gently so the seasoning adheres well and forms a flavorful crust.

  5. Place the seasoned steaks on the preheated grill and cook for approximately 6 minutes on the first side without moving them, allowing a nice crust to develop.

  6. Flip the steaks and cook for another 6 minutes on the second side. The internal temperature should reach 145°F at the thickest part for medium-rare doneness.

  7. Transfer the cooked steaks to a plate and allow them to rest for 5 minutes before serving. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring a tender and succulent steak.
