Ingredients

2 pounds Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

3 tablespoons Granulated sugar

⅝ bottle (750ml) Red wine or rosé wine, chilled

⅝ bottle (750ml) White wine, chilled

½ bottle (750ml) Brut sparkling wine, chilled

Directions

  1. Place the hulled and halved fresh strawberries into a large punch bowl or similar serving vessel.

  2. Sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly over the strawberries and gently stir until they are thoroughly coated.

  3. Allow the strawberries and sugar to sit undisturbed for 3 hours. During this time, the sugar will draw out the fruit's natural juices, softening and macerating the strawberries.

  4. Pour the chilled red wine or rosé wine over the macerated strawberries and stir to combine.

  5. Let the mixture rest for an additional hour to allow the flavors to meld and deepen.

  6. Add the chilled white wine and stir well to blend all ingredients. If not serving immediately, refrigerate the punch until ready to serve.

  7. Just before serving, pour the chilled brut sparkling wine into the punch bowl and stir gently to distribute the bubbles evenly throughout.

  8. Serve the punch in glasses, including some of the macerated strawberries in each serving.
