Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds ground turkey (85% lean)

1 cup bread crumbs

1 egg

1/4 cup chopped green onion

3 teaspoons prepared mustard

Nonstick cooking spray

Directions

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water before beginning.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, chopped green onion, and prepared mustard. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty approximately 1/2 inch thick.

  4. Coat a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat.

  5. Place the turkey patties in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip each patty and cook for another 5 minutes on the other side.

  6. The patties are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165°F on a meat thermometer, or when they are golden brown on the outside and white throughout with no pink remaining. Total cooking time is approximately 10 minutes.

  7. Transfer the cooked patties to a plate and serve immediately.
