Ingredients
1 package Thin spaghetti
Salt
1 tbsp Olive oil
1 Medium onion, diced
2 Garlic cloves, minced
¼ tsp Crushed red pepper
1 can Canned whole tomatoes
1 lb Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
¼ cup Fresh parsley leaves, loosely packed
Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until softened.
Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
Pour in the canned tomatoes with their juices, breaking them apart with a spoon. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add the shrimp to the simmering sauce and stir well. Cook for 4-5 minutes, until the shrimp are pink and opaque throughout and have reached an internal temperature of 145°F.
Taste the sauce and season with salt as needed. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss gently to coat with the sauce.
Divide the shrimp fra diavolo among serving bowls. Garnish generously with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
