Ingredients
4 clove garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
2 tbsp light brown sugar
2 tbsp coarse salt
2 tsp paprika
½ tsp ground black pepper
½ tsp cayenne pepper
4 chop bone-in pork loin chops
Directions
In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, light brown sugar, coarse salt, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix thoroughly until a thick paste forms.
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Generously rub the spice paste all over both sides of each chop, making sure to coat them evenly.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates with additional vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
Place the pork chops on the hot grill and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F at the thickest part of the meat away from the bone.
Transfer the grilled pork chops to a serving platter and let them rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Comments
This recipe has no ingredient surprises—garlic, oil, brown sugar, and spices are in every Charlotte grocery chain. At roughly $2–2.50 per chop across Harris Teeter, Food Lion, or Walmart, the cost per serving lands around $2.50–3.00, making it a solid weeknight choice. The stated 15 minutes is honest if you're using a hot grill; the paste comes together in two minutes and pork chops cook through in 8–10 minutes over direct heat. It's a no-fuss family meal that reheats acceptably the next day, though the paste loses some punch after refrigeration, so same-night eating is ideal.
