Radicchio and watercress are both available year-round at Harris Teeter and Food Lion, though watercress can be inconsistent in stock and may require a second stop at a Whole Foods or specialty grocer for reliable sourcing. The 5-minute estimate is honest—it truly needs only washing, slicing, and whisking—but this is a raw salad with no leftovers, so it works best as a same-night side. Cost per serving runs $1.50–$2.00 depending on watercress availability and quality; the peppery greens and bitter radicchio deliver bright flavor but limited substance, making this a companion dish rather than a standalone meal. Budget the extra stop for consistent watercress if your regular grocer's produce is spotty.
