Ingredients

1 chipotle chile in adobo sauce plus 1 tsp. adobo sauce

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

¼ tsp. dried dill

¼ tsp. ground cumin

Kosher salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Combine the chipotle chile with its adobo sauce, mayonnaise, cilantro, dill, cumin, and salt in a blender or food processor.

  2. Blend on high speed for 2–3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy with no visible pepper pieces.

  3. Transfer the sauce to a clean jar or small bowl. Cover tightly and refrigerate. Use within 4 weeks for best flavor and safety.

Every ingredient is stocked at every major Charlotte chain, including the chipotle in adobo at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Kroger, and Walmart; cost per serving runs under 50 cents. The three-minute time is honest—it's a blender or food processor job with no hidden prep. It reheats poorly (mayo breaks), so this is a condiment for immediate use on sandwiches, bowls, or tacos, which limits its usefulness for meal prep but isn't a drawback for its actual purpose.
