Ingredients

2 cans (14.5 ounces each) low-sodium diced tomatoes, drained

1 can (4.5 ounces) diced roasted green chiles, drained

1/4 cup sliced green onion

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

1 garlic clove, minced

Directions

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and clean running water before preparing the salsa.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained diced tomatoes, drained green chiles, sliced green onion, and minced garlic.

  3. Add the chopped cilantro, lemon or lime juice, and black pepper to the bowl.

  4. Stir all ingredients together until evenly combined and well mixed.

  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld together.

  6. Give the salsa a gentle stir before serving. Enjoy with baked tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
