Ingredients
1 medium ripe avocado
2–3 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
¼ cup tomato, finely diced
2–3 tablespoons red onion, finely diced
1 green chili, finely minced
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Directions
Halve the ripe avocado lengthwise around the pit. Gently twist the two halves apart and use a spoon to carefully remove the pit.
Using a spoon, scoop the avocado flesh into a medium bowl. Coarsely mash with a fork, leaving some small chunks for a rustic texture.
Add the lemon juice immediately and gently fold to prevent browning.
Fold in the diced tomato, onion, minced green chili, and fresh cilantro until just combined.
Season with salt and cracked black pepper to taste, stirring gently to blend.
Serve immediately, or cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Comments
Every ingredient is standard at any Charlotte supermarket year-round, with avocados widely available at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Publix, Kroger, Walmart, and ALDI. The cost runs roughly $2.50–$3.50 total depending on avocado price, so under $2 per serving. The stated 10 minutes is honest—cutting and mashing takes that long with no hidden prep. The main drawback is serving size: two servings of guacamole as a standalone dish is tight for a family meal, though it works perfectly as a dip or side.
