Ingredients
1-2 tablespoons butter, divided
8 slices cooked bacon
4 slices Muenster cheese
¼ cup thinly sliced red pear
3 tablespoons raspberry preserves
4 slices sturdy whole grain wheat bread
Directions
Preheat a griddle or panini press to medium-high heat. If using cooked bacon that has cooled, you may gently warm it while the griddle heats.
Lay out all four bread slices. Spread 1½ tablespoons of raspberry preserves on the inside of one slice of bread.
Layer half of the sliced pear over the preserves, then arrange 4 slices of bacon on top, followed by 2 slices of Muenster cheese. Top with the second bread slice to complete the first sandwich. Repeat with the remaining bread, preserves, pear, bacon, and cheese to make the second sandwich.
Spread half of the butter evenly on the outside top surface of the first sandwich and half on its bottom surface. Place the sandwich on the preheated griddle or panini press.
Cook for 4–8 minutes, pressing gently if using a panini press, until the cheese is completely melted and the bread is golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the second sandwich, using the remaining butter on both sides.
Remove from the griddle and let cool for a few seconds, then serve warm. Cut diagonally if desired.
