Ingredients

4 slices whole grain bread slices

15 ounces white chunk albacore tuna in water, drained

3½ tablespoons mayonnaise

¼ teaspoon dried dill

¼ teaspoon onion flakes

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon paprika

1 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced

1 large tomato, sliced

4 slices sliced muenster cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the broiler to high. Lightly toast each slice of whole grain bread until golden and crispy around the edges but still pliable enough to hold toppings.

  2. While the bread is toasting, prepare the seasoned tuna salad: combine the drained albacore tuna, mayonnaise, dried dill, onion flakes, garlic powder, and paprika in a medium bowl. Mix gently until all ingredients are incorporated and the mixture is evenly seasoned.

  3. Arrange the toasted bread slices on a baking sheet. Divide the sliced avocado evenly among the 4 bread slices, layering the slices slightly.

  4. Top each slice of avocado-covered bread with tomato slices, distributing them evenly.

  5. Spoon the seasoned tuna salad over the tomato layer on each bread slice, spreading it to cover the toppings.

  6. Place one slice of muenster cheese on top of the tuna mixture on each sandwich.

  7. Place the baking sheet under the preheated broiler on high for 3 to 4 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling and the entire sandwich is heated through. Remove carefully and serve hot.
