Ingredients

2 lbs lean ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

8 small corn or flour tortillas

shredded cheese

shredded lettuce

diced tomatoes

diced onion

sour cream

guacamole

salsa

cilantro leaves

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the taco seasoning packet, mixing gently until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the meat. Form the mixture into 8 thin, flat patties roughly the same size and shape as your small tortillas, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the beef patties on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until they reach an internal temperature of 160F for food safety. During the last minute of cooking, place the tortillas on the grill to warm them, turning once.

  3. Remove the cooked patties and tortillas from the grill. Place one beef patty on each warm tortilla, then immediately top the patty with a handful of shredded cheese while it is still hot to allow the cheese to soften.

  4. Arrange additional toppings on each taco in order: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced onion, a dollop of sour cream, a spoonful of guacamole, a drizzle of salsa, and a few fresh cilantro leaves.

  5. Serve immediately while the tortillas and beef are warm.
