Ingredients

2 cups All-purpose flour

1 tablespoon Instant yeast

1 tablespoon Sugar

2⅔ cups Warm water (110–115 °F)

Nonstick cooking spray

1 cup Marinara sauce

1½ cups Part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded

Pizza toppings of your choice

Directions

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water. Preheat the oven to 375 °F.

  2. Gather and prepare all ingredients before you begin. Shred the mozzarella cheese and measure out all other ingredients.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of the all-purpose flour with the instant yeast and sugar. Stir in the warm water (110–115 °F) until combined.

  4. Gradually add the remaining 1 cup of flour to the bowl, stirring with a spoon until a rough dough ball forms.

  5. Dust your cutting board or clean countertop with a light coating of flour.

  6. Turn the dough out onto the floured surface and knead with your clean hands for about 5 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

  7. Spray a bowl lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

  8. Place the kneaded dough into the prepared bowl and cover it with a clean dishtowel.

  9. Set the bowl on the stovetop while the oven preheats (away from any burners). Allow the dough to rest for 10 to 15 minutes; the warmth from the preheating oven will help it rise slightly.

  10. Spray a 12-inch × 16-inch baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

  11. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and gently stretch it into an even, thin layer. If you prefer a thicker crust, use a smaller baking sheet instead.

  12. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around all edges for the crust.

  13. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

  14. Add your choice of pizza toppings in a single layer, being careful not to overload the pizza, which can make it soggy.

  15. Bake for approximately 15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted with light brown spots.

  16. Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator within 2 hours, and consume within 3 to 5 days.
