Ingredients

10 medium lemons (about 3 pounds) Fresh lemons

2 cups Granulated sugar

3 cups Cold water

Directions

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or waxy coating. Pat them dry with a clean towel.

  2. Cut each lemon in half and use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice into a large bowl or pitcher. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp and seeds, reserving the clear juice.

  3. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice with the granulated sugar. Stir vigorously for 2 to 3 minutes until the sugar fully dissolves, ensuring no grains remain.

  4. Add the cold water to the lemon-sugar mixture and stir well to combine all ingredients evenly. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired by adding more sugar or lemon juice if needed.

  5. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours to allow flavors to fully develop and meld together.

  6. Stir well before serving and pour into glasses filled with ice. Serve immediately while cold and refreshing.
