Every ingredient is a staple at any Charlotte grocer—whiskey, eggs, confectioners' sugar, and half-and-half are drugstore-aisle permanent fixtures at Harris Teeter, Walmart, and Food Lion alike. At roughly $1.50 per drink (whiskey aside, which you'll use a pour at a time), this is genuinely cheap. The real time is honest: five minutes accounts for shaking and serving, no hidden prep. The one caveat is that this is a single-serving, same-night drink that demands fresh eggs and attention to emulsification, so it suits someone who enjoys cocktail technique more than a family meal; batch-making doesn't work here.
