Ingredients
2½ cups Chicken broth
1½ cups Whole milk
¾ cup All-purpose flour
½ teaspoon Onion powder
½ teaspoon Garlic powder
½ teaspoon Black pepper
1 teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Fresh parsley, dried
Directions
Pour the chicken broth and ½ cup of the milk into a large saucepan. Place over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
While the broth heats, whisk together the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and parsley in a small bowl. Slowly add the remaining 1 cup of milk to the flour mixture, whisking constantly until you have a smooth, lump-free slurry.
Once the broth begins to simmer, slowly pour the flour and milk mixture into the saucepan while whisking constantly. Reduce heat to low.
Continue to stir and whisk the soup continuously as it simmers for 5 to 10 minutes, until the mixture is smooth and noticeably thicker. The soup will continue to thicken slightly as it cools.
Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Ladle into bowls and serve hot.
