Ingredients

½ bunch fresh cilantro

½ large cucumber, peeled

1 green apple, cored and cut into quarters

4 to 6 kale leaves

1 cup fresh pineapple chunks

ice for serving

Directions

  1. Rinse all fresh produce thoroughly under cool running water. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  2. Peel the cucumber and core the green apple. Cut the apple into quarters and cut the cucumber into chunks that will fit easily through your juicer chute.

  3. Prepare the pineapple by cutting into chunks sized appropriately for your juicer.

  4. Turn on your juicer and begin feeding ingredients through in batches: start with the kale and cilantro, followed by the cucumber, green apple, and finally the pineapple. Push gently as needed.

  5. Stir or shake the extracted juice to ensure all flavors are well combined.

  6. Divide the juice between two glasses filled with ice and serve immediately.

All six ingredients are stocked year-round at every major Charlotte chain, making this a no-special-trip juice. A 10-minute stated time is honest for a juicer or high-powered blender, though hand-blending would stretch past that. Cost runs roughly $3 to $4 per serving depending on pineapple season and whether you buy pre-cut fruit—a middling price for fresh juice but typical for this category. The real caveat is that cold-pressed juice does not keep well overnight; this is a same-day, ideally same-hour drink, so batch-cooking for the week will not work here.
