Ingredients

4 cups freshly brewed hot coffee

1 cup heavy cream

2 Tbsp. sugar

1 cup sweetened whipped cream

8 oz. Irish whiskey

Freshly grated nutmeg or ground cinnamon for garnish

Ice

Directions

  1. Brew 4 cups of fresh coffee and let cool slightly. In a large pitcher, combine the hot coffee, heavy cream, and sugar. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or up to 8 hours ahead of serving.

  2. Spoon 1 tablespoon of sweetened whipped cream into the bottom of each of four 14-ounce highball glasses.

  3. Remove the chilled coffee mixture from the refrigerator. Stir in the Irish whiskey until well blended.

  4. Pour the whiskey and coffee mixture evenly among the four glasses, dividing it equally over the whipped cream layer in each glass.

  5. Fill each glass with ice to the top.

  6. Top each glass with an additional 1 tablespoon of sweetened whipped cream.

  7. Dust the top of each drink lightly with freshly grated nutmeg or ground cinnamon.

  8. Serve immediately while cold and enjoy.
