Summary

WASHINGTON, August 17, 2026 – Asian America Trading, Inc., a Hayward, Calif. firm, is recalling approximately 996 pounds of ready-to-eat fish skin products prepared from Pangasius fish because they were produced in The People’s Republic of China, a country that is not eligible to export Ready-To-Eat Siluriformes product to the United States. The following products are subject to recall are [view labels]: 50-g plastic bag packages containing “CRISPY FISH SKIN CRACKERS, SALTED EGG.” 50-g plastic bag packages containing “FISH SKIN CRACKERS, SPICY FLAVOUR” 50-g plastic bag packages containing “UN CHI CRISP FISH SKIN, Wasabi Flavour” 50-g plastic bag packages containing “UN CHI CRISP FISH SKIN, Laver Flavour.” These items were shipped to retail locations in California. The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products in commerce. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness or injury should contact a health care provider. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ pantries. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
