Andy Anonymous was a poor orphan who lived with a despicable foster couple, Melvin and Melba Malishoush. Andy asked for a nickel so he could buy two marshmallows for the school picnic, but instead of a nickel, Melvin gave him a thump on his head and a push out the door. At the picnic, none of the kids would give Andy a marshmallow to roast. Nearby was a plant filled with cherry tomatoes. Andy picked one, stuck it on a stick and roasted it in the fire, which the other kids made fun of. But when it came off the fire, the tomato looked so good, tasted so tomatoey, that the other kids turned the event into a tomato roast, with Andy in charge.
